Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Anvil website and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Anvil is a product and service operated by Sword Anvil Development and Innovation LLC, trading as Sword Anvil, a company licensed in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates under Economic Licence No. CN-5592640 (“Sword Anvil,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Anvil is a marketplace for second-hand books. Members list books they own; others redeem them through the Service. We act as an intermediary: we collect the book from the member who listed it, and deliver it to the recipient. We are the party you transact with at checkout, and we account to the listing member separately.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to redeem or exchange on the Service. You sign in using a one-time passcode sent to your email. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure and for all activity under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information, including a valid phone number and delivery/pickup location, which we use to fulfil orders.

When you place an order, you agree to pay the listed price plus a delivery fee of AED 15.00 (AED 7.00 for members — see section 7). Your order is confirmed once payment is received. We arrange collection of the book and delivery to the location saved on your profile.

Books listed on the Service are pre-owned. Conditions are described as accurately as possible, but minor wear consistent with a used book is to be expected.

By listing a book, you represent and warrant that:

• You own the book and have the right to list and exchange it;
• The photo and any details are accurate and not misleading as to the book's condition;
• The book is genuine and not a counterfeit or unauthorised copy.

When your book is redeemed, you agree to make it available for collection at your saved location. We pay your share to you after the book is collected and on its way to the recipient. We may remove any listing at our discretion.

All prices are in UAE Dirhams (AED). Payments are processed by our third-party payment providers (such as Stripe and Ziina). We do not store your full card details. The delivery fee is AED 15.00 per order unless stated otherwise at checkout.

Membership. You may get an Anvil membership for a one-time fee of AED 49.00, valid for 12 months from activation. While your membership is active, the delivery fee is reduced to AED 7.00 per order and you get early access to newly listed books. Membership is a one-time payment, not a recurring subscription; it does not renew automatically, and when it lapses the standard delivery fee applies again. The membership fee is non-refundable except where required by law. We may change membership pricing or benefits for future members; changes do not affect the term you have already paid for.

We deliver across the United Arab Emirates to the location you pin on the map. Delivery times are estimates and may vary. Risk in and title to a book passes to the recipient on delivery.

If a book arrives materially different from its listing, or an order cannot be fulfilled, contact us and we will arrange a replacement or refund. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

You agree not to list or use the Service for:

• Counterfeit, pirated, or unlawful materials;
• Content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes others' rights;
• Fraud, misuse of another person's account, or any attempt to disrupt or bypass the security of the Service.

You retain ownership of the photos and information you upload (“User Content”). You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and use that content to operate and promote the Service. You are responsible for the content you upload.

The Service, including its design, branding, and software, belongs to Sword Anviland is protected by law. “Anvil” and related marks may not be used without our written permission.

We rely on third parties to operate the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication), Cloudinary (image hosting), and payment providers (Stripe, Ziina). Your use of the Service may be subject to their terms.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every listing description is complete.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sword Anvil shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order shall not exceed the amount you paid for that order.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sword Anvil from any claims or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your breach of these Terms.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter. The courts of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates shall have jurisdiction over any dispute.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms here and revise the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
